These treks start in Ait Ben Haddou and can be fully adapted to your level and physical condition, for 2 or 3 nights, with longer options also possible.
The route leads through the magnificent region surrounding the ksar, where the scenery seems to change every ten minutes — from rocky hills and desert plains to lush oases and ancient kasbahs. This remarkably diverse landscape offers both adventure and beauty, with the opportunity to explore the area’s rich culture and architecture — all experienced on horseback.

Day 1: Ait Ben Haddou – Aghbalou (approx. 4 hours riding)
Accommodation: Mountain camp
After assessing everyone’s riding level, horses will be carefully matched to each rider to ensure comfort and confidence before we set off.
We begin our journey through the palm grove of Ait Ben Haddou, continuing across the arid plateaus of Aït Saïd Oumanssour.
Our camp for the night is set at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.
Day 2: Aghbalou - Aguerd (approx. 5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Mountain camp
This morning, we cross the Tamassent plateaus to reach Toundount, where we’ll enjoy stunning views over the almond tree valley.
In the afternoon, long, exhilarating gallops await us on a wide open plateau before reaching Tiflit village.
We’ll then ascend through scenic gorges to reach our campsite near Aguerd, where we spend the evening under the stars.
Day 3: Aguerd – Taoujgalt (approx. 5½ hours riding)

Today’s route takes us along Nait Tounert, passing through charming villages and overlooking beautifully cultivated terraces.
After a picnic lunch, we ride across a plateau and continue towards a mountain pass with spectacular views over the Azaghar-N-Aiguer valley.
We finish the day following a narrow trail leading to our peaceful campsite for the night.
Day 4: Taoujgalt - Agouti (Approx. 5 hours riding)

Riding through the Assif El Qati Valley, we’ll encounter striking examples of traditional ksour—fortified villages that stand out beautifully against the lush green gardens and ochre cliffs.
Some of these ancient dwellings may once have housed troglodyte families.
We set up camp in Agouti, surrounded by this timeless landscape.
Day 5: Agouti – Boutaghrar (approx. 6½ hours riding)

As we follow the El Qati Valley, we’ll pass through well-preserved traditional villages framed by wild rose bushes.
In May, the blooming roses fill the air with their delicate fragrance.
The landscape becomes a living painting — pink roses, green fields, and ochre rocks blending into a vivid mosaic of colors.
This area is renowned for its rose plantations, whose precious essence is exported worldwide for fine perfumes.
Overnight in camp on the route to Boutaghrar.
Day 6: Boutaghrar – Timstiquite – Ait Ben Haddou (approx. 2½ hours riding)

We leave the refreshing banks of the M’Goun River and follow narrow mule tracks towards Timstiquite village.
After enjoying a final lunch in the valley, we make our way back to Ait Ben Haddou, where you can enjoy the free afternoon, completing an unforgettable riding adventure.
Day 7: Ait Ben Haddou
After breakfast, you will have some final moments to soak in the views of Ait Ben Haddou before being transferred to Ouarzazate Airport in time for your flight.

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Arrival in Marrakech and transfer to your hotel. Meet your guide and prepare for the adventure ahead. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 2: Marrakech – Anzal – Tamllakoute (2½ hours riding)
Accommodation: Mountain Camp
After a transfer to Ait Marssid in the Siroua Massif, meet your horses and take a short introductory ride. Then set off along the Anzal Oueds toward Tamllakoute, your first night under the stars in the mountains.
Day 3: Tamllakoute – Amezri (5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Mountain Camp
Ride past the village of Tinzaline and cross rocky terrain to the hidden Tizgzawine. In the afternoon, continue to Merzoug and the vast Amezri plateau, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 4: Amezri – Talat n’Mdist (5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Mountain Camp
Today’s ride climbs to the Siroua summits, passing Ait Tigga and its saffron fields. Enjoy panoramic views of Berber villages scattered across the valley. After reaching the famous Tizi n’Anzommer Pass, descend along shepherd trails to your camp in the Mdist Valley.
Day 5: Talat n’Mdist – Azazougzane (5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Mountain Camp
Ride through a mountainous desert landscape rich in medicinal plants collected by local Berbers. Descend to the river and enjoy lunch at the foot of Djebel Tazoulte. Continue to the Azib Azazougzane sheep pens, where camp is set for the night.
Day 6: Azazougzane – Anmid (5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Mountain Camp
Ride through green meadows and rocky landscapes, stopping for lunch among the sheepfolds. Climb to Tizi n’Ait Qalla for sweeping views over Anmid and settle at camp at the foot of the village.
Day 7: Anmid – Amassine (2½ hours riding)
Accommodation: Hotel
After your final mountain ride, follow a scenic track overlooking traditional Berber villages. Enjoy a last canter before saying goodbye to your horses and transferring back to Marrakech. Overnight at your hotel, with the afternoon free to relax or explore.
Day 8: Marrakech – Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech Airport for your departure.

Arrival at Ouarzazate Airport and meet & greet with your guide. Transfer to your hotel and overnight stay in ABH.
Day 2: Ait Ben Haddou – Zagora – Djebel Bani (approx. 5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Desert camp
Early departure (around 7:00 am) from ABH towards Zagora (approx. 3-hour drive).
From here, the ride begins, heading southwest across the vast Feïja Reg, offering a first glimpse of the desert’s immensity.
Gradually, the trail approaches the final mountain chain — the natural gateway to the Sahara: the Djebel Bani.
We ascend the winding path to the mountain pass for spectacular views over the Feïja Plateau and the distant Djebel Sagho.
Descending through a narrow gorge, we reach a small oasis, a traditional resting place for nomads.
Overnight in a desert bivouac.
Day 3: Djebel Bani – Oued Naam (approx. 5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Desert camp
Today’s ride crosses a dry plateau dotted with a few hardy acacia trees — the only vegetation able to withstand this arid climate.
Further south, the first sand dunes appear, rising higher as we continue.
This area, part of a natural reserve, is home to reintroduced gazelles and ostriches.
Camp beside the Naam River — its name meaning “ostrich” in Arabic.
Day 4: Oued Naam – Ouled Driss (approx. 5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Desert camp
Riding through the dunes, we may spot nomad camps along the way, with their traditional kheïma tents made of camel or goat hair.
Continuing toward the end of the Drâa Valley, the first houses emerge among the palm trees of Bounou.
Its ksar (fortified village) is among the most beautiful in the valley.
We then reach Ouled Driss, where you can visit the ksar and a small local museum before camping overnight.
Day 5: Ouled Driss – Nesrate (approx. 5 hours riding)

From Ouled Driss, the pace quickens as we follow the Drâa Valley, riding over sand ridges and onto an open reg plateau.
After crossing the Selmane Pass, enjoy panoramic views over the Tagounite palm grove.
We continue through fields and villages with beautifully decorated walls before reaching Nesrate, where the sand has gradually reclaimed the former palm grove.
Overnight camp in the dunes.
Day 6: Nesrate – Oued Drâa (approx. 4½ hours riding)
Accommodation: Desert camp
The trail leads back toward the lively villages of the valley, with their ksour, shaded gardens, and sun-baked adobe houses.
The palm grove ends where the Drâa River flows between Djebel Bani and Djebel Tadrart.
We continue through the oasis and set up camp among the palm trees.
Day 7: Oued Drâa – Tinfou Dunes – Ait Ben Haddou (approx. 2 hours riding)
Accommodation: Hotel in ABH
Our final ride heads north, winding between ksour and cultivated fields before reaching Tinfou village, where tall dunes threaten to engulf the nearby houses and palm groves.
Despite long-term efforts to fight desertification, the sands continue their slow advance.
Transfer to Ait Ben Haddou in the early afternoon.
Dinner in a charming local restaurant and overnight at your hotel.
Day 8: Ait Ben Haddou – Airport
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to Ouarzazate Airport according to your flight schedule.

Day 2: Ait Ben Haddou – Imi N’Chaabte – Tafraout (approx. 2½ hours riding)

Meet at your hotel reception at 7:00 am. Transfer through the spectacular Drâa Valley towards Zagora (approx. 3½-hour drive). After Tansikht, the route follows the Jebel Sagho range northwards, passing Nkob and Tazzarine, before leaving the paved road near Mcissi.
Here you’ll meet your horses and support team for the first ride. The adventure begins in a true Saharan setting of sandy valleys and soft dunes. Dinner and overnight at an inn in Tafraout.
Day 3: Tafraout – Foum Mharech (approx. 4–6 hours riding)
Accommodation: Riad
Ride through Tafraout village and across the Ahbouche Ntkouyte Plateau (Lake Tafraout) – perfect terrain for long, exhilarating gallops. The trail passes between Jebel Mohre and Jebel Zireg, revealing a magnificent desert landscape of endless dunes and rugged cliffs.
Overnight at a beautiful desert inn in Foum Mharech.
Day 4: Foum Mharech – Remlia – Ouzina Sand Hills (approx. 4–6 hours riding)

We ride across wide open desert plains, climbing a small pass overlooking the Wadi Ghriss Valley. As we progress deeper into the Sahara, the scenery becomes ever more striking — a dramatic mix of rocky ridges, golden dunes, and scattered oases bringing life to the arid expanse.
Dinner and overnight at a charming guesthouse at the foot of the Ouzina dunes.
Day 5: Ouzina Sand Hills – Jdaid (approx. 4–5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Guesthouse
Today’s route follows the sweeping dunes of Ouzina, alternating between sand and stony reg, where mountains meet desert. The trail leads toward Taghaoucht-n-Jdaid, a small village and important water source.
Dinner and overnight at a comfortable inn in the heart of the Sahara.
Day 6: Jdaid – Merzouga (approx. 5 hours riding)
Accommodation: Hotel
The landscape changes once again as we ride through terrain dotted with tamaris trees, approaching the majestic Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest in Morocco.
Our horses navigate the sandy trails as we enjoy the unforgettable views of this golden sea of dunes.
Overnight at a traditional guesthouse near Merzouga.
Day 7: Merzouga – Ait Ben Haddou (approx. 3 hours riding)
Enjoy a final morning ride around the dunes before dismounting and sharing a snack with the team.
We then meet our minibus for the return transfer to Ait Ben Haddou (approx. 5 hours).
End of the riding adventure.
